A car driver illegally crossed the state border, damaging the gate At the Rava-Ruska-Hrebenne checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Polish border. The communication department of the National Police in the Lviv region reports this information.

The local police got a word about the incident at 9 p.m. on March 7.

As law enforcement officers established, the driver of the Ford minibus did not comply with the legal requirements of customs officers, knocked down the gate with a car and left the checkpoint.

The attacker who turned out to be a 38-year-old resident of the Zholkovsky district was detained in accordance with Art. 208 Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine. Soon the court will choose a preventive measure for him. The circumstances of the incident are being established.

Investigators of the Zholkovsky police department opened criminal proceedings under part 2 of article 342 ("Resistance to a government representative, employee of a law enforcement agency, state executor, private executor, member of a public formation for the protection of public order and the state border, or military serviceman, authorized person of the Deposit Guarantee Fund for Individuals") of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for up to two years in prison.

A pre-trial investigation is underway.
