Ukraine's Healthcare Ministry is now in the final stage of development of vaccination passports for citizens. Maksym Stepanov, the Healthcare Minister said it is almost ready, though the date of introduction of these IDs is not chosen yet.
According to the official, a citizen will only get the vaccination passports if he/she received two doses of the vaccine. The passport should contain information about the dates of vaccination and the vaccine's expiry date.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky insisted there was a need to introduce the vaccination passport in Ukraine. “These ‘passports’ are already being developed by the countries of the EU and the U.S., and Switzerland and Israel – in other words, by many developed countries that actively work on the creation of the collective immunity against coronavirus. We should also actively develop our system of proper ‘passportization’, also for curb of the spread of coronavirus disease, we have to cover 70% of adult population with the vaccines against Covid-19,” Zelensky said.
