Veteran of Donbas war who passed the Battle of Ilovaisk and spent 119 days in militants’ captivity, Yuriy Dosyak died at the age of 37 from coronavirus as Lviv center for the provision of services to combatants reported on Facebook.

“With deep sadness, we inform you that this morning, Yuriy Dosyak, a participant in the hostilities, has passed away. Yura is a volunteer fighter of the Donbas battalion, survived in Ilovaisk, returned from captivity…But, unfortunately, here the disease turned out to be stronger…We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends,” the center wrote.

Dosyak was in the hospital for a long time with extensive bilateral pneumonia caused by Covid-19. He was under artificial lung ventilator. He spent a week in a medical coma, but the day before, he got out of it, was in a medical sleep, the doctors noted a positive dynamics. The family of the Donbas veteran began to gather money for his treatment.

On the morning of November 5, his heart stopped.

Besides, Dosyak was an active participant in the Euromaidan, in 2014 he volunteered for the Donbas battalion. He took part in the liberation of Popasna, in the battles for Mariinka, and when leaving Ilovaisk, he was taken prisoner by the militants in Donetsk for 119 days.
