The Kyiv police detained the former second commander of "Donbas" battalion Anatoly Vinogrodsky. On this page informs Ukrainian public organization "Rukh Vysvolennya".

According to the organization, a volunteer of the OUN battalion Leonid Lytvynenko was also detained in Zhytomyr region at the same time.

The communications department of National Police said that one of the former leaders of the Donbas battalion and the ex-volunteer of the armed group were detained for attacking a security guard of an enterprise in the Kirovohrad region.

"Law enforcers established that on July 27, at about 11:30, these citizens, together with other persons, arrived in the territory of the CZP (private agricultural enterprise, - Ed.) The attackers beat the guard with the use of brass knuckles and telescopic sticks, causing injuries. Also they took away from the victim his personal property, causing damage at the amount of over 650 thousand UAH," said in a statement.

The police claim that the detention was carried out based on court orders in Kyiv and Zhytomyr region. In the car of one of the detainees, law enforcement officers found knives.

The actions of the detainees were qualified by the investigators under part 2 of Art. 187 (robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The detainees were reported about suspicion in absentia. This article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to ten years with confiscation of property.
