'Myth,' the documentary about the life and death of Vasyl Slipak, the Ukrainian opera singer, will be aired in cinemas across Ukraine on February 8. The State Cinema Agency of Ukraine reported that on Thursday.
'The production team will visit 19 Ukrainian cities within the promotion tour for the documentary,' the message on the agency's website says.
The overall sum of the state support for the documentary makes USD 23,000, with the overall production price being roughly USD 50,000. The film was shot in August 2016-April 2017 in Paris, Lviv (western Ukraine) and on the frontline in Donbas. 'Myth' is directed by Leonid Kanter and Ivan Yasnyi.
Vasyl Slipak was the soloist of the Paris National Opera. He was the active participant of 2004 and 2014 revolutions in Ukraine. In 2015, he voulnteered for the army, fighting Russian militants in Donbas. In June 2015, he was shot dead by the enemy sniper not far from Luhanske, Donetsk region.
