A local resident of Dnipro city had weapons stashed in his garage. The police reported this on Tuesday, after the servicemen checked the garage and seized the guns and ammunition.
The 40-year-old man kept 65 hand grenades, over 1,000 rounds of ammunition of various calibres, two machineguns, two pistols, two anti-tank grenade launchers, a signal rocket and explosives.
The owner was detained and notified of suspicion in committing of a crime foreseen bt the respective articel of the Criminal Code. The mishandling of weapons or explosives may lead to an imprisonment from three to seven years.
Last week, law enforcers revealed a big hiding spot with explosive devices, grenades and grenade launchers in Zaitsevo, Dnipropetrovsk region, on August 11 as the press office of the region police reports.
In total, eight kilograms of explosive devices, 60 RGD-5, F1 and RGN grenades with detonators, two rocket-propelled grenades, six rounds to it, 12 smoke bombs and 16 boxes with bullets to different weapon was found.
It was noted that the local policeman, who was gathering waste metal in the wood line found the hideout. For now, the policemen are determining the origin of the weapon and the individuals involved in the establishment of the hideout. All the ammunition was seized and sent for inspection.
A criminal proceeding on this case was opened under the article of Ukraine’s Criminal Code on the illegal handling of weapons, ammunition and explosive devices.
