French perfume production concern LVMH announced it begins to manufacture sanitizing gel for hand care; the production will be taking place at three French factories. The gel products will replace usual perfume products made by Christian Dior, Guerlain and Givenchy companies. This week alone, the concern plans to issue 12 tons of gel, DW reported.
The sanitizing products will be passed to French medical institutions for free. 39 state-run hospitals will be the first to get the supplies, the concern says. According to the Healthcare Ministry representatives, the gel stocks in these hospitals are getting low.
In the view of the spread of Chinese coronavirus, there's an increasingly strong demand for means of disinfection in France. The government imposed a restriction on purchasing the sanitizing gel. The prices for this gel are also limited, as the government got informed about certain retailers trying to make money on the public hype.
The latest updates say that the number of victims in France reached 120. Just over one day, March 14, the number of fatalities increased by 31, which is the most rapid jump since the epidemic was detected in France, Heathcare Minister Olivier Veran said.
