Polish border guards detained citizens of Azerbaijan and Ukraine and one Polish woman in connection with their participation in an organized criminal group that, through fictitious employment, organized the illegal residence in Poland of more than 500 illegal immigrants from other countries. Polish Radio Dla Ciebie reports.
According to border guards, the criminal group that facilitated the stay of foreigners in Poland included an Azerbaijani citizen, two Ukrainian citizens of Azerbaijani nationality and a Polish wife of one of them.
The group used fake companies to organize the fictitious employment of at least 537 foreigners, including those from Azerbaijan, Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq and Kazakhstan. Criminal schemes allowed the group to earn money on obtaining residence permits and work permits for illegal immigrants in Poland.
According to the Nadvislanski Border Guard Department of Poland, thanks to the activities of the group, foreigners could illegally enter and remain in Poland and other EU countries.
As we reported before, in 2019, 26.6 thousand illegal immigrants were recorded in Poland, of which more than 13,000 were working Ukrainians.
