The first results of tests for coronavirus infection that were taken of Ukrainians and foreigners, evacuated from Wuhan, should be obtained on Wednesday, February 26. Deputy Minister of Health Viktor Liashko said this during a briefing in Novi Sanzhary, which was broadcasted by 112 Ukraine TV Channel.
"The samples were delivered to the National Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center. We will process them within two days. We expect the first results to be available to us on Wednesday and then we will be able to release them," Liashko said.
In addition, he noted that on February 24, the World Health Organization had delivered almost 900 test systems to Ukraine, which means that there are now about a thousand kits available for use.
All kits are now located in Kyiv, the question of their redistribution at the level of the MoH's regional laboratory centers is being worked on.
As we reported earlier, Minister of Health of Ukraine Zoryana Skaletska conducted a morning examination of evacuees from Wuhan who are currently quarantined at a medical center in Novi Sanzhary.
According to the photos, provided by journalist Oleksandr Makhov, the minister, accompanied by doctors, was wearing a special white protective suit, mask, and closed her eyes with something like a transparent plastic.
