The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine claims that there is a difference between the symptoms of infection with the original version of the coronavirus and the Delta mutation. It tells how to determine Delta on Facebook.
"Fever, headache, sore throat and runny nose are common, while coughs and loss of smell or taste are less common," the message says.
More serious symptoms of infection with the Delta mutation are also known: hearing impairment, gastrointestinal problems, and blood clots that lead to tissue death and gangrene.
According to a study carried out by scientists from China, the concentration of the virus in the blood of an infected person from the Delta strain is 1000 times higher than that of those infected with the usual coronavirus. This means that the patient is much more likely to excrete the virus into the external environment, and this contributes to the spread of the virus to other people.
The risk of a severe course of the disease being infected with the Delta strain is much higher if the person is not vaccinated.
Fully vaccinated people carry the disease asymptomatically or in a much milder form, the Ministry concluded.
As it was reported earlier, Due to the Delta strain spread, Ukraine is tightening its entry rules.
