The mortality of Ukraine’s population has exceeded the level of 2020 by 24.3%, including in March (in that particular month, it grew by 48.5%). The relevant data were published by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
Thus, 242,671 people have died in Ukraine since the beginning of 2021. This is 47,384 more deaths than in January-April 2020 when 195,287 people died. In particular, 68,621 people died in March (46,223 in April 2020 to compare).
“During January-April 2021, the population decreased by 145.800. The exceedance of deaths number over the number of liveborn remains significant: 37 liveborn per 100 deaths,” the document states.
Moreover, 89,025 people were born in Ukraine since the beginning of 2021, while the migration rate made 7,907. Last year's numbers are 92,339 and 6,755 respectively.
It was reported that the population of Ukraine on May 1, 2021, made 41,442,000.
As it was reported earlier, the scientists explained how mortality from the coronavirus in Ukraine would change. The WHO also reported that the actual number of deaths from COVID-19 in the world might be several times higher than official statistics.
