The road accident that took place in Kharkiv on Wednesday evening occurred due to a violation of driving regulations. Oleg Bekh, the head of the chief department of the local branch of the National Police told that to the press.

‘We do not consider this accident as a terrorist act,’ he said answering a reporter’s question.

As 112 International reported, an SUV drove into a crowd of people in Kharkiv. As a result, five people died, six more were injured, the press service of the Kharkiv Police informs.

'According to the preliminary information, 11 people suffered: five died, six more received injuries of different severity,' the statement says.

The tragedy happened at about 8:45 p.m. in Sumska street. The law enforcers are clarifying the accident. The woman who was driving the car has been detained.
