Olena Zaitseva, the driver who caused the road accident in Kharkiv in October 2017 ran the red light; this is confirmed by the video record from surveillance cameras, set on the crime scene. Prosecutor Ihor Omelchenko said this as Kyiv district court in Kharkiv (northeastern Ukraine) held another session in the high-profile case.

'The video record proved that both defendants in the case, Olena Zaitseva and Hennadiy Dronov, violated the road traffic. Both had an opportunity to see each other and avoid the collision. The record shows that Zaitseva began to move when the red light was on; Dronov started to move when it was yellow', Omelchenko said.

The high-profile event occurred in Kharkiv, northeastern Ukraine, in October 2017. Olena Zaitseva, the adopted daughter of the famous businessman Vasyl Zaitsev, crossed the street on the red light. She rain into Dronov's Volkswagen, which resulted in the actual crash that killed five and injured another six people.
