An explosion occurred on Tayaryan Square in Baghdad, as a result of which two people were killed and another 12 were injured, Reuters reports.
It is noted that makeshift bomb was installed under one of the cars parked on the square.
Whether the incident is related to the protests that have been taking place in Iraq since October 1 is still unknown.
The protests in Iraq began on October 1. At first, those who were dissatisfied demanded that the authorities pay attention to youth unemployment and corruption, but then demands began to sound about breaking the current Iraqi political system. Protesters call for a revision of the political system created after the US invasion in 2003, accusing the government and major political parties of corruption and incompetence. Most of the deaths occurred during the first week of the demonstrations, when snipers shot at crowds of people from the roofs of Baghdad.
As we reported, the number of victims of clashes during anti-government protests in Iraq has risen to 100. It is noted that at least six police officers are among the dead. The number of victims approached 4 000 people. In Baghdad hospitals, there are 1,600 protesters.
