The Ukrainian government has increased the daily allowance for polar explorers who are at the Academician Vernadsky station. The corresponding decision was made at today's meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
Antarctic field support is established as compensation for extreme working conditions and is paid in national currency in the amount provided for the payment of daily subsistence allowance for business trips.
Thus, polar explorers who are on an expedition for less than 390 days have increased their daily allowance by 30 times for each day of continuous stay at the Academician Vernadsky station, and for those whose duration of the expedition is more than 390 days - 50 times.
As you know, the size of the polar provision for polar explorers is equal to the average daily allowance in Ukraine multiplied by the coefficient set by the Cabinet of Ministers. That is, those who are on the expedition for less than 390 days will be paid $65 per day, and if they stay at the Akademik Vernadsky station for more than 390 days - $110 per day.
