For the first time in Western Ukraine, medics performed a gynecological operation using a robotic Da Vinci system. This was reported on the Lviv Clinical Ambulance Hospital website.

The patient is a 19-year-old girl who suffered from constant pelvic pain and menstrual irregularities for 2 years, she was also diagnosed with infertility.

After a thorough examination, specialists found a dermoid cyst of the right ovary. This is a benign tumor, often treated surgically. Usually such a cyst is formed since birth.

Taking the patient's age and illness into account, doctors decided to perform surgery using a robotic Da Vinci system. The use of micro-tools and high-definition 3D images allowed specialists to remove the cyst with just a few small punctures.
