Czech government plans to impose emergency state due to Covid-19

The emergency state provides the restriction of main rights and freedoms of citizens and it might be imposed for no more than 30 days

On September 30, the government of the Czech Republic plans to consider the introduction of the emergency state due to the growth of the number of Covid-19 infected, as reported.

The proper decision was submitted for the consideration of the government by the Health Minister Roman Prymula.

It is reported that the government might impose the emergency state for no more than 30 days and it could be extended only with the agreement of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic.

The introduction of the emergency state provides that the government might restrict the freedom of movement of the citizens and freedom of assembly. Moreover, the government is authorized to restrict the property rights of the citizens and their rights for business. Besides, the government might deploy the army in the territory of the country and provide the priority supply of the critically important infrastructure of the state, children, social and medical objects.

According to Worldometers, 65,883 Covid-19 cases were observed in the Czech Republic.

As we reported, the 2020 edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF) was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The organization committee decided to re-schedule it for July 2-10, 2021.
