Ukraine's Healthcare Minister Maksym Stepanov warned the citizens that the current epidemiological situation in this country is even more complicated than it was in spring, when the pandemic just began. The official posted that on Facebook.
"5,397 diagnoses of Covid-19 per the last 24 hours and some 1,000 cases of hospitalization... The beds are occupied fast. Similar situation was observed in spring in Spain and Italy. And even medical systens of European countries were not able to deal with the load of patients... In spring, we saw flash mobs in social networks, as they supported the medics. But now, the situation is much worse, and it's the same moment when the doctors need much more support", Stepanov wrote.
He turned to officials who allow mass events to take place: it's about a serious danger, and no one has the right to treat people's lives carelessly.
"I turn to all citizens, despite their status or occupation, I urge everyone: wear masks, observe social distance, use anti-septics and wash your hands. The situation is more serious than ever since the epidemic began. There's your life and lives of your close ones at stake", the Minister concluded.
Stepanov also pointed out that the most effective way to stop the spread of coronavirus infection is to impose a total quarantine, but Ukraine cannot afford it.
