The current model of imposing a specific duty in the electricity market proposed to be extended until August 1. The press service of the Ministry of Energy reported this.

"Given these factors, the Ministry of Energy has initiated an extension of the current imposing of specific duty until August 1," the statement said.

It is reported that the situation in the electricity market in May-June completely distorts the possibility of adequate forecasting of the model of financially stable operation for imposing specific duty participants.

"The new model of imposing of specific duty should implement two main tasks: to protect socially vulnerable groups through tariff reductions and predictability, as well as to provide generation companies with the opportunity to modernize production facilities and stable operation," the Ministry added.

And it is necessary to determine the exact amount of money that the market currently needs to implement these tasks.

Earlier, it was reported that the Cabinet of Ministers will present a new model of imposing of specific duties in the electricity market this week.
