The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine wondered whether it was worth to fund the honored choir named after Hryhoriy Veryovka. Iryna Podoliak, the Deputy Minister of Culture, wrote it on her Facebook page.
"The hypothetical question is interesting... whether the government... will refuse to finance such social realistic projects as the National choir named after Hryhoriy Veryovka giving them a possibility to see by itself how the audience is needed in it, how many - hundreds or thousands of citizens - will be shouting about destroying of "the national culture"?" the Deputy Minister noted.
Podoliak believes that if the choir is popular among people, they will support it anyway.
She suggested funding other folk collectives such as Bozhychy, Drevo, Hurtopravtsi and others.
"Hipe passes in two days - and visits of cabinets and committees start instead. Then mediators and Pr agencies are engaged to temper the conflict, then the creator of the conflict resigns but bloomers and wreaths still the national fetishes," she added.
