Unidentified culprits tried to commit an act of illegal export of ship components from Ukraine - for the needs of Russian Navy. Press office of the SBU, Security Service of Ukraine reported that on Friday.
"The SBU counter-intelligence prevented illegal export of Ukrainian goods of military use to Russia. The components for the aggressor country's Navy fleet were supposed to be shipped as civilian product", reads the message.
The investigation found out that the equipment was supposed to reach Russian military enterprises, which completed defense orders in the interest of the Russian Navy. The mentioned goods were shipped as products made in Russia - within the implementation of Russia's government program of imports phase-out.
The goods were halted at Zaporizhya customs checkpoint. The criminals tried to mvoe them across the customs border, using the documents that contained false information about the origins and supposed use of these goods.
