In the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, an armed criminal killed over 10 people, including at least one police officer. Local authorities wrote about this on Sunday, as Reuters reports.

The killings began late Saturday in the small Atlantic coastal town of Portapike, about 130 km north of Halifax, the provincial capital.

The police told reporters that 51-year-old Gabriel Wortman shot and killed people in several places throughout the province within 12 hours. The criminal is dead. The Canadian television channel CTV reported that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police shot the attacker, but law enforcement officials did not confirm this information.

Investigators are still trying to establish the final list of the dead.

This series of crimes is considered the most brutal massacre in Canada since December 1989, when an armed criminal shot dead 15 women in Montreal.

As we reported before, head of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov is now in the United States, where he holds meetings with FBI officers.
