‘Kyiv District Court of Simferopol arrested Dilyaver Gafarov until December 25, 2018; he is accused of having participated in the Noman Çelebicihan volunteer detachment,’ reads the message.
It is noted that Gafarov was detained on October 30, after the search at his home in Zhemchuzhyna Krymu village. Russian special forces seized his notebook, mobile phones, documents, Ukrainian and Russian passports. He refused to testify and denied all charges. The defense intends to file an appeal.
Crimea was annexed by Russia by way of the illegal referendum that was held on the peninsula in March 2014. Earlier, the Russian military captured all strategic military objects and buildings of the key authoritative bodies. Neither Ukraine nor the rest of the civilized countries recognized the results of the referendum. A number of the European and the world countries, including Ukraine, imposed the economic sanctions against Russia.
