Slightly more than 6% of those hospitalized with Covid-19 from October 11 to 22 in Ukraine were vaccinated with at least one dose of the vaccine. Anna Peshkova writes about this for 112ua.tv, referring to statistics provided by the Center for Public Health.
"According to the data on the main incidence of Covid-19, in Ukraine since the beginning of the recording of the requested information (11.10.2021) as of 22.10.2021 (inclusive) 3,066 people were hospitalized who received at least one dose, among the suspected and confirmed cases of Covid-19," the Public Health Center said in a statement.
The author of the material points out that according to the official statistics of morbidity on the CPH website, 48,929 people were admitted to Ukrainian hospitals with coronavirus during this period. Thus, the percentage of vaccinated is slightly more than 6%.
As of October 25, 2021, only 21.69% of citizens are vaccinated against Covid-19 in the country. Vaccination rates are low compared to Israel, the UK, Iceland and the United States. The author of the material emphasizes: if the ratio of vaccinated and unvaccinated in Ukraine were approximately the same, the incidence rate among those who received the vaccine could have been higher.
Earlier, Kyiv mayor Vitaliy Klitschko claimed that the current occupancy rate of the beds with oxygen in Kyiv's hospitals makes 66 percent. At the same time, there are no free beds in Kyiv city hospital No.4.
According to the Chief Medical Officer of Hospital No.4 Tetyana Mostepan, 30-40 percent of all hospitalized people are immediately taken to intensive care units.
