Nearly 350,000 people have been diagnosed with the disease since the beginning of the pandemic in the country

5,426 new cases of coronavirus infection have been observed in Ukraine over the last 24 hours. This is evidenced by the data provided by the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).

In total, 348,924 people have fallen ill with Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in the country, 6,464 (+73) have died, and 142,537 (+1029) have managed to recover.

On October 23, 41,430 PCR tests for coronavirus were carried out in Ukraine, which was a new record.

As we reported earlier, according to Ukraine's Health Minister Maksym Stepanov, a potential Ukrainian coronavirus vaccine has already shown complete neutralization of the virus in living human cells.

He added that the vaccine might appear in a year in case of positive results of clinical trials. Its production will cost more than five million dollars

"Calculations will be made, and I believe that it will be fully funded by the state (namely, the production of this vaccine), and this is what the president of the country insists on, among other things," the statement said.
