5,334 new cases of coronavirus infection have been observed in Ukraine over the last 24 hours. This was announced by Health Minister Maksym Stepanov.
In total, 1,083,585 people have contracted Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in the country, 747,408 of them (+13,850 during the day) have recovered, and 19,129 (+202) have died.
The largest number of confirmed cases was registered in the city of Kyiv (846), Odesa (682), Zaporizhia (418), Cherkasy (376), and Poltava (376) regions.
As we reported earlier, according to Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov, the contract between Ukraine and the Chinese company Sinovac Biotech for the supply of the vaccine against Covid-19 stipulates that it must be at least 70% effective.
"Our contract stipulates that the vaccine must be at least 70% effective," noted the official.
It was noted that the Chinese company was expected to publish the final results of clinical trials on January 7 after the completion of the third phase of research, which was underway in Brazil.
