Over the last 24 hours, Ukrainian doctors confirmed 3,915 new cases of Covid-19, including 117 children and 111 healthcare workers. Coronavirus_Info Telegram channel reports it.
2,079 people have been taken to hospitals during this period; 83 patients deceased, and 5,407 recovered. 23,081 tests have been taken.
Most of the confirmed cases have been observed in Lviv (320), Ivano-Frankivsk (292), Kyiv (242), Kyiv city (240) and Dnipropetrovsk (236) regions.
1,191,812 people have got sick since the pandemic began in Ukraine, 947,514 recovered.
Meanwhile, early evidence suggests that the UK strain of the coronavirus may be more deadly than others.
"In addition to its rapid spread, there is now also some evidence that the new strain may be associated with high mortality," Prime Minister Boris Johnson said.
The British Prime Minister clarified that the death rate from the new strain of coronavirus, compared to the "old" strain of Covid-19, is 30% higher. It notes that the evidence comes from mathematicians who analyze trends in the number of people dying from "new" and "old" strains.
