Over the last 24 hours, Ukrainian doctors confirmed 14,490 new cases of Covid-19, including 1,069 children and 135 healthcare workers. Coronavirus_Info Telegram channel reports it.

4,881 people have been taken to hospitals during this period; 403 patients deceased and 11,146 recovered. 77,713 tests have been taken.

Most of the confirmed cases have been observed in Dnipropetrovsk (1,630), Kharkiv (1,050), Zaporizhia (1,029), Odesa (979) and Donetsk (793) regions.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Ukraine, 3,217,639 people have contracted the disease, 2,631,240 have overcome it, 76,705 have succumbed to it.

Meanwhile, World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has named the number of vaccines needed to achieve the global immunization plan against Covid-19 by the end of the year. He stated this during a briefing.

"To reach WHO’s target of vaccinating 40% of the population of every country by the end of this year, we need an additional 550 million doses – about 10 days’ production," Ghebreyesus said. 

According to him, COVAX has already shipped almost 500 million vaccines to 144 countries and territories.
