Over the last 24 hours, Ukrainian doctors confirmed 12,983 new cases of Covid-19, including 1,105 children and 204 healthcare workers. Coronavirus_Info Telegram channel reports it.

2,859 people have been taken to hospitals during this period; 277 patients deceased and 5,874 recovered. 90,186 tests have been taken.

Most of the confirmed cases have been observed in Odesa (1,321), Kharkiv (1,293), Lviv (927), Zaporizhia (917) and Kherson (831) regions.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Ukraine, 2,623,882 people have contracted the disease, 2,322,456 have overcome it, 60,414 have succumbed to it.

Meanwhile, in Ukraine, the peak of coronavirus incidence is expected in late October - early November. During this period, more than 50,000 Ukrainians can be hospitalized. This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov during a briefing.

"We predict the peak of the coronavirus pandemic at the end of this month, it is somewhere from 20-25-30 to 4-5 next month," Danilov said.

According to him, during the peak period of the pandemic, 52,000 Ukrainians can be hospitalized, and this will become a challenge for the health care system of Ukraine.
