Over the last 24 hours, Ukrainian doctors confirmed 1,205 new cases of Covid-19, including 149 children and 23 healthcare workers. Coronavirus_Info Telegram channel reports it.

833 people have been taken to hospitals during this period; 18 patients deceased and 758 recovered. 21,474 tests have been taken.

Most of the confirmed cases have been observed in Kyiv city (166), Ternopil (148), Chernivtsi (120), Zhytomyr (88) and Lviv (86) regions.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Ukraine, 2,317,824 people have contracted the disease, 2,221,868 have overcome it, 54,360 have succumbed to it.

Meanwhile, plans to introduce vaccine passports for access into nightclubs and large events in England will not go ahead, the UK health secretary has said.

"We shouldn't be doing things for the sake of it," told Sajid Javid.

He said the government had looked at the evidence, adding: "I'm pleased to say we will not be going ahead."

It was thought the plan, which came under criticism from venues and some MPs, would be introduced at the end of this month.
