The situation with Covid-19 spread in Kyiv has been worsening rapidly. Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko posted that on Telegram.

According to him, currently, the Covid units of the capital city's hospitals are full by 47 percent.

"Every day, one of the major hospitals, the Oleksandrivsky hospital hosts more than 50 new patients every day. Doctors also claim that the virus became more aggressive. Many more children have been getting sick", he wrote.

1,837 patients have been undergoing treatment at hospitals; 1,297 of these are in grave condition. 30 are plugged into the AVLs. 1,512 patients need oxygen support therapy. "Infectionists confirm that more than 95 percent of patients who end up in hospitals are not vaccinated. The unvaccinated patients tend to be facing disease-related complications more often", the mayor added.

The number of new cases of Covid-19 in Ukraine may exceed 20,000 by the end of October as the National Academy of Sciences predicted for October 13-26, 2021.

It is noted that the average number of new cases in Ukraine has increased to 13,175 people per day, and the number of deaths made 264 cases per day averagely over the last week.
