Covid-2019: Airplane departs from Boryspil to evacuate Ukrainians from China

Tonight, on February 19, an airplane departed from Boryspil International Airport to China in order to evacuate Ukrainians from the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak (Covid-2019). Ukraine’s Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk announced this on his Telegram channel.

According to him, the plane should arrive in China on February 19, at 22:00 local time (16:00 Kyiv time).

"The plane of a special flight, which will evacuate citizens of Ukraine and foreign countries from the city of Wuhan in China, departed from the international airport Boryspil,” the message reads.

According to the airport's press service, the departure of the Boeing 737-800 SkyUp aircraft took place at 02:50.

At 09:00 the Ukrainian plane landed at the Almaty International Airport (Kazakhstan), from where it will then depart to Wuhan.

As we reported earlier, according to Zoryana Scaletska, Ukraine's Minister of Health, Ukrainians, evacuated from Wuhan, will be sent for a 14-day quarantine, which will take place under the protection of the National Guard and the National Police.

"The evacuation will be carried out with consideration of all the recommendations of the World Health Organization. According to the algorithms used worldwide. The plane departs from Kyiv on Tuesday, February 18," she said.
