The World Health Organization (WHO) has decided to give advice on how to minimize the risk of getting infected with coronavirus during the New Year holidays because the overall number of cases tends to increase during that period.

This was announced by the Director-General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on Twitter.

We all want to be with our loved ones during the upcoming holidays, but we mustn't be complacent. #COVID19 is changing the way we celebrate, but it doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate. Be safe: follow local guidance, stay with your household & avoid crowds. #InThisTogether,” reads the message.

The head of the WHO advised abandoning traveling for the New Year holidays. People should not invite large companies to your home for security reasons.

As we reported earlier, President Zelensky stated that a full lockdown would not be introduced in December.

“In general, the situation is under control and does not require the immediate introduction of complete isolation in December. We give businesses the opportunity to operate in December, one of the most profitable months of the year. We will not spoil the holidays that we all expect, because the year was not easy,” he emphasized.
