10,842 cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in Ukraine over the last 24 hours, which is a new anti-record for daily incidence. This was reported by the Ministry of Health on its Telegram channel.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 479,197 cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Ukraine. 214,657 people managed to recover (+5,514), 8,756 people succumbed to the disease (+179).

It is noted that the biggest amount of cases was observed in Kyiv - 747, Zhytomyr region - 646, Kyiv region - 628, Odesa region - 608, and Zaporizhia region - 588.

As we reported earlier, Chief Sanitary Doctor Viktor Lyashko stated that the Cabinet of Minister would soon vote for the introduction of the weekend quarantine.

"In the near future, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will vote for the introduction of weekend quarantine. We will do everything possible to save the healthcare system from collapse and not stop our economy," the statement said.

As of now, about 200 regions are in the "red" zone.
