On August 26, a record daily increase in the number of deaths from the coronavirus infection was reported in Ukraine - 49 people. This was announced by Health Minister Maksym Stepanov.

2,403 deaths have been reported since the beginning of the pandemic. Meanwhile, 53,454 patients have already managed to recover - a repeated laboratory study did not detect the virus.

Speaking on the statistics: yesterday the highest number of cases was recorded in the city of Kyiv - 220, Kharkiv region – 218, and Lviv region - 203.

As we reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has extended adaptive lockdown in Ukraine until October 31.

"Adaptive lockdown allows us to keep the balance between quarantine restrictions and the normal life of the country. The increase in morbidity in recent weeks forces us to act more decisively. And today we will consider extending the adaptive lockdown for two months. Restrictions and zoning of territories by color will be valid at least until November, we extend the quarantine until October 31," said Shmygal.
