The local authorities of the Chernivtsi region (western Ukraine) shut down all schools, colleges, and universities because of the reported cases of coronavirus in the area. The regional state administration reported that, as quoted by UA: Bukovyna.

The local government prohibited all public events and asked parents not to let their children attend kindergartens.

The education process was postponed for 14 consecutive days - from March 6 till March 22, inclusively.

Earlier, a citizen of Switzerland succumbed to the Chinese coronavirus on March 5. This becomes the first lethal case due to this particular disease in this country, Reuters wrote referring to the regional police.

According to the law enforcers, the woman was hospitalized in Lausanne's university hospital on Tuesday, March 3. The 74-year-old lady suffered from a chronic disease; she was a patient from the high-risk category.

On Wednesday, March 4, Swiss law enforcement agencies claimed that the sickness has been mostly spreading among young people; but most likely, it may also be passed to the elderly people who suffer even more than the youth.
