The number of fatal Covid-19 cases exceeded 700,000 all over the world. According to Reuters, which cites the statistics of the last two weeks, every five hours, some 5,900 people pass away due to the disease. That's 247 people per hour, or one life every 15 seconds.

U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that the outbreak in this country is under control; meanwhile, some 155,000 deceased in the U.S. on the background of mixed reaction to the public healthcare crisis, as the healthcare system failed to stop the growth of morbidity rate.

“They are dying, that’s true,” he said in an interview. “It is what it is. But that doesn’t mean we aren’t doing everything we can. It’s under control as much as you can control it. This is a horrible plague.”

Brazilian leader Jair Bolsonaro claimed that the pandemic was of minimum danger in his country, and stood against prevention and localization of the disease - even though he himself and some members of his Cabinet were tested positive.

"More than 100 million people across Latin America and the Caribbean live in slums, according to the United Nations Human Settlements Programme. Many have jobs in the informal sector with little in the way of a social safety net and have continued to work throughout the pandemic. Even in parts of the world that had appeared to have curbed the spread of the virus, countries have recently seen single-day records in new cases, signaling the battle is far from over", reads the story by Reuters.
