US President Joe Biden has signed a series of executive orders to address Covid-19 challenges, including making coronavirus test followed by quarantine mandatory for all travellers coming from overseas. It was reported by Reuters.
In addition to wearing masks, everyone flying to the United States from another country will need to test before they get on the plane, before they depart, and quarantine when they arrive in America.
The Biden administration also announced it would reimpose entry bans on most non-U.S. citizens who have recently been in Brazil, the United Kingdom, Ireland and most of continental Europe after President Donald Trump issued an order on Monday lifting them effective the same day the new testing rules take effect.
As Joe Biden entered the White House upon the presidential inauguration, his administration immediately stated that fighting coronavirus would become the first priority for them.
“We can and will beat Covid-19. America deserves a response to the Covid-19 pandemic that is driven by science, data, and public health — not politics,” Reuters quoted the the White House's statement on this matter.
The pandemic, which killed the record number of people in the U.S. affected the very nature of the inauguration-related events. Thousands of citizens were asked to stay home to avoid the further spread of infection.
