Over the last 24 hours, 3,584 new cases of coronavirus infection have been observed in Ukraine. Thus, a new anti-record in daily morbidity has been set. This is evidenced by data provided by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC).
166,244 people have been diagnosed with the disease since the beginning of the pandemic: 3,400 of them have died (+60 in the last 24 hours) and 73,913 have successfully recovered (+1,589).
The recent increase in the number of cases forced the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to change its approaches to dividing regions into quarantine zones according to the level of coronavirus infection.
As we reported earlier, The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine predicts about 50 deaths from coronavirus per day in the foreseeable future.
"In accordance with the scenarios considered, the regions with the highest expected number of infected are Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Odesa, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Khmelnytsky, Chernivtsi regions, and Kyiv," the message says.
