Zaporizhya appeal court kept in detention two of the murder suspects in the assassination of Vitaliy Oleshko, the former Ukrainian army volunteer (see photo above). Radio Liberty reported that, referring to the jury's decision.
Maksym Vladymyrenkov and Mykola Lomaka will remain in the remand centers where they stay currently; the decision, effective immediately, cannot be canceled, though the lawyer asked to change the restriction measure for the home arrest.
The jury of Zaporizhya appeal court was also supposed to consider the appeal to change the restriction measure for another suspect, Oleksandr Obukhov. However, Obukhov's lawyer had his authority expired, which is why the court now searches a government-approved lawyer to be appointed - unless Obukhov chooses one on his own.
Vitaliy Oleshko was killed with the gunshot in Berdyansk in summer this year. He was known as the social activist who persistently fought corruption.
Oleshko was shot dead in the yard of a local hotel, in front of his wife. Andriy Madzharov, who later uploaded a video on his social network account confirmed that the man sustained two wounds to his back; the killer used a shotgun.
The shooter who killed Vitaliy 'Sarmat' Oleshko is the former fighter of Tornado volunteer battalion. The convict, formerly the sniper of the unit, might face the life imprisonment for this particular crime.
