Kyiv district court of Kharkiv chose the restriction measure for 16-year-old Mykola Kharkivsky, the perpetrator of the recent road accident in the city. He was arrested for 60 days without the right for a bail, VESTI reported.
During the court, Kharkivsky faced another criminal case; he is now also charged with a false statement about stealing a car, which he was driving at the moment of mowing down a pedestrian on the crossroads. The prosecutor claims that Kharkivsky called the police and made the statement immediately after the road accident.
Kharkivsky also apologized to the familits of the victims. He also claimed he never used to hide from the investigation authorities.
The tragedy took place on October 26. One person died and three were injured, as Kharkivsky mowed them down while driving the car adrunk. He now faces up to eight years behind the bars.
