New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said strains of the new coronavirus entered his state from Europe, not China. The official said this, referring to a study of scientists from Northeastern US University, as Reuters reports.
"Travel bans imposed by US President Donald Trump were too late to stop its spread," Cuomo summed up.
According to researchers, more than 1 thousand New Yorkers could become infected with coronavirus before the first case of the disease was confirmed on March 1. According to Cuomo, Italy is a likely source of coronavirus in his state.
The governor noted that Trump ordered a ban on travel from China on February 2, more than a month after the news of the Covid-19 outbreak in the Chinese city of Wuhan, and decided to limit travel from Europe next month. By then, the virus had spread widely in the United States.
As we reported, the Russian side accuses the Ukrainian side of the intentional disruption of the project created for the facilitation of the consequences of the pandemic. The project also provided the lifting of sanctions against Russia.
