Ruslan Makarets, a prisoner of the Russian militants died in a colony in occupied Makiivka. Adviser to the head of the Ukrainian delegation in the Tripartite Contact Group Heide Rizaieva announced that on Facebook.

"The prisoner who died yesterday in the Makiivka Correctional Facility №32 is Ruslan Makarets, who was previously convicted in accordance with the law of the so-called Donetsk People's Republic to 13 years of imprisonment under articles "Treason" and "Espionage" in favor of the Ukrainian special services," the message reads.

It is known that Ruslan Makarets was born in 1984, he has relatives who now live in the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government and in the occupied territory.

As it was reported on August 2, the Yoshkar-Ola court has recognized a citizen of Ukraine guilty in the “attempt of smuggling” of parts of the Russian air defense missile system. He was sentenced to three years and four months in prison.
