The condition of the three soldiers who suffered from the explosion of the mortar at the Rivne landfill and hospitalized to Lviv is assessed as moderately severe. Ivan Bohdan, the Colonel of the Medical Service of the Military Medical Clinical Center of the Western Region claimed this at the briefing as Interfax-Ukraine reports.
‘Prompt intervention allowed have saved the injured soldiers. Their condition can be assessed as moderately severe, the intensive therapy is completed, and there is no threat for their lives,’ he said.
Bohdan pointed out the effective work of the doctors arrived at the scene.
They are in the conscience, they talk and have sustenance, according to him.
Meanwhile, the soldiers need a long-term treatment and number of surgeries.
Reportedly, a mortar exploded during military exercises in Rivne region at 6 AM on July 6. Three soldiers died and nine were injured as a result of the explosion. According to the preliminary information from the Ministry of Defense, violation of safety measures caused the tragedy.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko prohibited to use Molot mortar till the end of the investigation in Rivne region.
