The stocks of coal on the state-run thermal power plants owned by Tsentrenergo company are twice lower than the minimal acceptable level. The Energy Ministry reported that on December 6.

Three TPPs that belong to Tsentrenergo currently have only 123.2 thousand tons, while the minimal allowable level is 227,600 tons. None of the state-run plants have enough coal to reach this minimal level.

The most critical situation is observed on Vuhlehirska TPP, with 21,000 tons available and the minimal acceptable amount of 77,600 tons. Zmiivska TPP stores 59,500 tons of the minimal amount of 99.4 thousand tons. Trypilska TPP has 42,700 tons, with the minimal necessary amount of 50,600 tons.

The second Panamax-class ship with 66,000 tons of coal for Ukrainian thermal power plants sailed to Ukraine. Coal was purchased from the United States within the framework of agreements between DTEK Energy and international suppliers as the press service of the company reported.

Coal from this vessel is intended for the needs of the DTEK Energy thermal power plant, where it will be shipped in the coming days to replenish reserves, Director-General of DTEK Energy said Ildar Saleev said.

The American fossil is supposed to help ensure the stability of the Ukrainian power system during peak periods.
