Climate change processes will influence the future of Naftogaz and the gas industry as a whole. The head of Naftogaz-Ukraine Andriy Kobolev at the annual general meeting of the European Business Association (EBA) during the thematic panel "Waiting for the Future" stated this. The journalist of 112.ua reports.
"We see climate change and its consequences and the task of each energy company to contribute to solving climate problems. One of the main problems of the energy company is to switch from non-renewable energy sources to renewable energy sources," - Kobolev said.
He believes that in 30-50 years only those energy companies will remain whose damage from activities will be minimal in terms of climate change.
"Over time, gas will become a thing of the past and only energy from renewable sources will be the engine," the head of Naftogaz-Ukraine added.
As we reported, Gazprom has sent a formal proposal to NJSC Naftogaz-Ukraine to extend the current contract or to conclude a new agreement on transit of gas through the territory of Ukraine for one year.
