Clashes near Parliament: Seven injured police officers

Seven police officers were injured on Saturday during clashes with residents of the tent camp near the building of the Verkhovna Rada. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

"The result of obstructing the lawful actions of the police was the hospitalization of seven employees of the National Police with injuries of varying severity: two law enforcers - with light injuries and five - with medium. According to preliminary findings of the doctors, the victims had closed craniocerebral trauma, chemical burns, fractures and bruises, " reads the message.

All information is included in the list under Part 2 of Art. 345 (Threat or violence against a law enforcement officer) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Previously, activists reported 11 hospitalized participants in the protest action.

Earlier it was reported that from the very morning the police in accordance with the decision of the court had to conduct investigative actions in the tent camp under the Verkhovna Rada. However, the protesters began to resist law enforcement. There were clashes, which resulted in, according to police, injured 6 people from among those who were in the tent camp.

It was noted that as a result of the clashes law enforcement officers detained more than 100 people. It was also reported that 9 grenades, fuses, Molotov cocktails and 5 smoke mines were confiscated from the protesters in the tent camp.
