Every Odesa citizen, who wants to get rid of Christmas tree after the winter holidays end, will be able to do it in a specially allotted place, but not near the trash container, the city’s website reports.
By handing in softwood, the citizens will be able to get candies or other sweets. The number of handed softwoods will not influence the number of sweets.
The promotion will run until February 1, 2020.
Specially allotted places have been allocated in the regions of Odesa. In total, there are 67 places. In particular, they are located in the courtyards of residential buildings and near shopping centers.
The full list of addresses can be found on the city’s website.
As we reported earlier, Ukraine's main Christmas tree is considered to be among the five most beautiful Christmas trees in Europe.
It was placed fifth, behind the Cologne Christmas tree in Germany, Strasbourg in France, and the capital's Christmas trees in the Czech Republic and Lithuania.
"It (Kyiv Christmas tree – ed.) is decorated with about a thousand different Christmas tree ornaments that flicker in the light of illumination. - this year it and 4 kilometers of multicolored garlands were ordered specially to match the colors of the domes of Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv. The Christmas tree is ‘protected’ by large figures of nutcrackers and heroes of the beloved adults’ and kids' cartoon about the Cossacks,” stated in Kyiv City State Administration’s message.
