The Christmas fair caught fire in Lviv, resulting in casualties, as the press service of the Lviv region police reported.
The message saying that one of the fair houses caught fire was received by law enforcement officers today, on December 22, at about 13:30. Rescuers extinguished the fire. Now the investigative team is working at the site; the causes of fire are being investigated, and the issue of opening criminal proceedings is being resolved.
At the moment, according to the police, three people turned to doctors for help. According to State Emergency Service, four people were injured. As the press service of the local rescue workers informs, the fire occurred at the shopping pavilion and soon it transferred to the two adjacent buildings of the fair.
Local media reported that three explosions were heard, a gas cylinder may have exploded. Previously, Vitaly Turovtsev, the speaker of the State Committee on Emergency Situations in the Lviv region, said that the use of gas cylinders is strictly prohibited during such events.
