China's National Immigration Administration has enhanced the measures of the border control to prevent the importation of Covid-19 into the country. This decision was made after a new outbreak of the disease occurred in the country as Global Times reported.

Thus, citizens were advised not to travel abroad, if this is not necessary, and to strictly observe the rules of entry for foreigners. Athletes arriving to compete in the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing will be subject to closed control to ensure the safety of preventive works.

The National Immigration Administration has also asked border ports to strengthen the management of overseas flights and charter flights; adhere to a policy of no boarding or stopping, if not necessary, for foreign ships. Trucks passing through land border ports must use pre-established routes.

The authorities have also asked the relevant agencies to strengthen border patrols and promote law and order with neighboring countries to prevent the spread of the virus. The frozen border rivers must be guarded to stop illegal border crossings.
